About ULVERONI

ULVERONI makes earrings, necklaces, rings and hair clips that carry the colours of canyon walls. Each piece is a slice of layered colour, set in a gold-plated frame and made to be worn every day.

The idea

Stand in front of a canyon wall and you see time laid down in bands: rust over cream, ochre over rose, a thin dark line where something changed. Sandstone builds up layer after layer, and when water or wind cuts through it, those layers are suddenly on show. We wanted to take that cut and wear it.

So every ULVERONI piece starts with a band of colour rather than a shape. The shape comes afterwards: a long drop, a hoop, a pendant, the face of a cocktail ring, a claw clip.

Layer by layer

Our pieces are made of cast resin, not stone. The resin is poured one layer after another, and because every layer is poured separately, the bands never fall in exactly the same place twice. Two earrings from the same design will match, but the lines between colours vary slightly from piece to piece.

Four strata

We work with four colour patterns:

• Red Rock: oxide red to cream in five bands, like red sandstone walls at the end of the day.
• Salt Flat: chalk white and ash grey with one thin charcoal line, a dry salt pan under a white sky.
• Canyon Dusk: plum, mauve, coral and tangerine, the canyon sky just after the sun goes down.
• Dune: ochre, caramel and sand in rippled bands, like dune ridges combed by the wind.

The names describe kinds of landscape, not particular places, and the same strata run through earrings, pendants, rings and clips.

Frames and fittings

The resin is set in frames of 316L stainless steel with 18K gold plating. Earring posts are 316L stainless steel. Claw clips combine layered resin with a stainless steel spring and hinge. Every earring page lists the length in millimetres and the weight of one earring in grams, and every ring is offered in clear sizes from UK J½ to R½. Our size guide explains how to read them.
